Happy New Year!

WOW, I haven't written in this thing forever! I've been so busy, not physically but mentally. John and I spent Thanksgiving at Silver City, then seen Amber in a musical on John's birthday in Las Cruces the following weekend, then went to Las Cruces for Amber's birthday and had a wonderful "SPA" day. That was Nice! The spa ladies took our shoes off for us, did manicures, pedicures and gave us wine/tea/water/ and lunch while getting our feet massaged. We then had full body massages with hot stones and then facials (personalized of course LOL). We got to wear fluffy robes as we went from room to room. Anyway, we were then home for one weekend at which time my husband's son and his wife visited. We then drove back to Las Cruces the following week for Christmas. In between these things I worried about and took care of my mom's financial/medical/heating problems. I'm ready for a break, but alas, this is yet to be because now, my mom's having insurance problems, with of course medicin issues, but medication is an ongoing issue. Oh, and I'm cramping like the dickens to add to it LOL. Good new though, I'm off work until next Tuesday and I don't really have to go anywhere if I don't want to LOL. I'm sure I will though, go see Mom before going back to work. Mom has been sweet and caring, she doesn't mean to be so tiring, it is just the way it is.

Sheeba has arrived

A new baby puppy keeps us busy, but she sure is a cutie. She goes "potty" everytime I put her outside, so far so good LOL. She doesn't know to "ask" to go potty, but if I put her out regularly she does well. I'd love to have her trained for a therapy dog. A lady I work with said her dog is a therapy dog and she recommended it for shelties. I will find out about the info and see what it involves. Anyway, enjoy the video (hope it works LOL)

OK so you can't see the teeth well, here's one more.

Mom's new teeth, and family

So I hope I do this correctly. There should be three pics my mom with her teeth and Ashley relaxing with my cat, Nemo, and Amber and Carlos relaxing on my new loveseat. The repeating factor should be relaxing, which is a wonderful past-time.

New Puppy

This is a picture of the new puppy we will be getting on October 15th. She is a sheltie and she is about 6 weeks old in the picture. Her name will be Sheeba. This is the first time I've bought a dog, which I picked out myself and it was for me not my kids LOL. Anyway, I hope to crate train her and she will keep me busy, but I miss having dog. I really look forward to taking her on walks and training her.

Camping was Great!

Well we went camping this weekend. It was great! We attempted fishing on Saturday, twice and both times got rained out and hailed on once. It was really fun! The mountains had such a fresh aroma, pine and wildflowers mixed. There weren't any crowds because people were of afraid of flooding again, which was fine for us, we had no noisy camping neighbors. The pictures are of my husband and myself, then Ashley, Amber and Carlos, next pic is the view from our camping spot. I don't know how to put titles under the pics yet, but I'll learn. I go to back to work tomorrow :( I know tho's of you who work all year don't feel sorry for me, but that's ok. I'm looking forward to a new school year, by Christmas I will be complaining about how I need a break LOL.

Its Monday! I go back to work in 8 days. I am ready, but somehow I know I will miss being home once I'm there. The grass is always greener on the other side LOL. We will be camping this weekend. Ruidoso, where we will be, has had millions of dollars worth of flooding recently. The dollar amount is accurate, my husband is on one of the government agencys requesting money for repairs. The road to the campgrounds had been washed out, but is being repaired at this time. Hopefully it gets repaired before we head up there. On a broader note, I really feel for the families who've had there homes and lands damaged by the flooding. On a personel note, I hope there aren't too many worms above ground since the grounds have been so saturated, YUCK! Anyway, onto my week!

Well, today Mom had her dental appointment. All went well. It is calm in New Mexico LOL. We will be camping September 8th, I can hardly wait. We plan on camping on the Mescalaro reservation in Ruidoso, NM. The last time we camped there many bears came out at night. They(3)literally ran in front of our vehicle when we came back from another location. It was really fun! As we were making a run for the front door of our camper we could hear one growling. We didn't dare look around, just ran into the camper and locked the door and then about died laughing! As the evening wore on we could hear them rummaging through the trash that people had left out. During the night (3:00a.m.) one of the bears paused under our pullout bed to eat some trash/food. It was scary but really exciting at the same time. Needless to say, I was glad we had a toilet in our camper so we didn't have to leave to hike somewhere in the dark LOL.

I haven't posted for a while so I thought I would. I haven't been busy in my own life. Mostly busy with my mother's life and problems, but oh well, such is life. I am greatful that I don't have any major problems in my own life or my children's lives. I did get to pick out carpet for my house. My floors currently have berber, which I hate (no offense if you have it). I will be getting a plush/textured carpet. It feels sooo soft to my feet, which I love :) My doctor said my red blood cells are too big again and wants me to get a bone marrow biopsy. He wanted me to get one 6 months ago, I didn't and my blood got better. I don't have any other symptoms of a disease so I'm not wanting to get the biopsy. I made the mistake of watching a BMB on youtube. I thought I'd faint. So, I will get a couple of other opinions first, then if I need one, I will demand an IV sedation or I won't get it, unless I begin to have more symptoms of disease, then I will get it anyway. Oh well, no more drama, at least not until my mom calls me. LOL

The bridal shower was great! I thought I'd only know the bride, but when I arrived I found that I know 80% of the women there. I ended up making a "wedding survival kit" for the bride. I loaded a small wicker pic-nic basket with bath products, matching scented candle, chocolates and miniatures of Tiquela (wine would have been better but I couldn't find small bottles). The gift was a success. It is wonderful to have a bit of "normality" in my life.

Bridal shower

I was invited to a bridal shower tonight, cool huh. Well, the thing is I've never been invited to one before. Crazy huh? Here I am 45 years old and I've never been invited to a bridal shower before. So, what do I buy? I'm really not sure. I'm sure all the guests aren't suppose to give lingerie. Anyway, I guess I will go shopping and find something. I don't even know what to expect at the shower. I feel silly being nervous about such a common event, but I don't want to look out of place. Oh, well I'm sure it will be fine.

No news if often good news. I have no news worth printing. I did read my nieces blog about what it's like to be in California. It made me think of my own kids and how hard it is to start out in life, especially when you don't have a good income. We often take for granted the small things that make us comfortable. Some of the things I have been grateful to have, that in the past I did not; air conditioner (that works), central air vs a small heater we'd gather around in the winter LOL, a car (that works) with tires with tread and a working windshield wiper LOL, food in the frig, a washer and dryer (that works), more then 2 pair of shoes (thongs and tennis), Health insurance (thats a big one), a job that pays above minimum wage, more than 2 pots and pans (skillet and cookie sheet), a whole set of kitchen utensils, glass vs plastic plates to eat on, towels that are thicker then a sheet (I still don't match, but I don't care), more then one set of sheets. I'm sure there are many more, but space is limited. I hope I continue to be aware of all that I've been blessed with and to know I can survive without any of it, if it is is ever taken away.

I really enjoyed my trip to the mountains. I seen my friend and her baby. He is sooo very cute! I went shopping and found something I've always wanted, a wisk for non-stick pans. Funny huh! Anyway, overall I have been blessed and all is well in my life. My sister-in-law has recently been placed in hospice so thats a bit of a downer, but she has been ill and in pain a long time, so in a way, this is better for her. We did get to visit her while she was in the hospital and aware enough to interact with us, which was really nice. She has been a really strong and sweet lady and we will miss her when the lord takes her home.

Another week of summer. It is to be 105 degrees today, nice huh? LOL. Tomorrow I will be going to the mountains to be with my husband for 3 days. It should be a bit cooler up there. This will be a nice leisure visit. Tuesday I visit a friend of mine and her cute little boy. Wednesday I will check out the shops and the casino, just for fun, I'm not a big money gambler but winning at the nickle machine is still fun. Thursday I will go home, but on my way I will visit my mom. Friday, John comes home. So much for my week. It is boring I suppose, but sometimes boring can be nice. Oh, I have recieved my letter from the ELKs. I will now be a member instead of the "wife of a member" LOL. This is cool, because I can now take an active part in what goes on and when. I really like being "in the know", as the spouse you cannot attend any meetings or be on any committees. So this is a cool thing.

Workouts

Well, I tried a new "circuit training" yesterday. I didn't really like it at first. It began with step aerobic type movements (I hate step aerobics LOL), which helped me demonstrate to all the utter lack of coordination I have LOL. It followed with exercises with a huge ball, which again demonstrated my lack of core muscle strength to control the darn thing LOL; however it ended with normal hand weight exercises. I'm good at normal "only one muscle has to work at a time" exercises, hence my need to for the exercises in the first place. I realized in the evening, when I couldn't move my torso without pain, that I really liked the training. I must strive to stick to it, which is something I have never done, regarding exercise that is LOL. So, to help me stick to it I listen to my mp3 player with songs from when I was 18 and had a good body (I think); songs like "Brick house, If you think I'm sexy, Leggs" LOL Yep, the imagination can do wonders for the self-esteem. When I hear those songs I'm not working out, I'm dancing in short shorts, with a hard butt, firm thighs, flat stomach and big firm boobs LOL. I feel better already, now off to my workout and avoiding the reality check of the mirrors LOL.

To the Week ahead LOL

So, I've just came back from my weekend in Las Cruces. Amber performed quite well, of course we would think so : ). There isn't much else to tell. John will go out of town tomorrow. My mom's plans have changed, as they often due within the hour. I thought about airing these plans and changes on the blog, but alas! It would serve no major purpose, but to frustrate the few who need to know what may happen within a days (hours lol) time frame. So, for now, Thank you GOD! for all is well within my spirit, life, health and family.

I think I've got it

My husband and I will be going to see our daughter, Amber, in "Hello Dolly" tomorrow. This will be the last time we can see her before she and Carlos (her boyfriend) go to Germany in July. She will be gone 18 days. She is going to attend the wedding of her foreign exchange sister, Jessica. Monday my husband will go out of town for the week. I may go and join him a day or two or invite my Mom to visit for a few days. Either way, I don't work summers so I must keep myself busy or go nuts LOL.
I just finished reading my neices blogs. This was so cool! I don't know as much about them as I would like. Blogging may be a wonderful way to get to know them better. Well, I'd best get busy doing what needs to be done.

LiveLaughLove

Ok, so I'm new at this bloggin thing. I don't know what to put yet, but I will figure it out. LOL, I hope.
